We interrupt this website for a view from Sunday’s successful CicLAvia

Just a few random images from Sunday’s Culver City to Venice CicLAvia, which once again appeared to be an overwhelming success.

Even if the LAPD seemed to undercount the attendance just a tad.

  1. You’re right about the understatement.

I set up about a quarter mile from the end of the ride in Venice and between 2pm and 3pm and did three two-minute counts of cyclists heading westward. Each time, I counted at least 150 riders, so that adds up to 4,500 per hour. And, of course, thats only heading in one direction — there were many heading back east. Granted, it was probably the busiest time for the event — but it was easily over 30K and probably close to 40K for the day.

    Yea, Great Day at CICLAVIA!

I noticed that even Tit’s Tacos I passes by 3x had a ton of business despite her grave concerns.

You provided a perfect snapshot of the day.
