Not everyone loves CSUN LimeBikes, Melissa Balmer talks bikes, and bike riders swarm convenience store

Apparently, the new LimeBikes at Cal State Northridge aren’t popular with everyone.

Steve S forwarded this flyer he received from someone on the campus, where the dockless bikeshare was officially introduced last week.

He notes that LimeBikes have already been abandoned in the middle of busy Lassen and Nordhoff Streets.

The Op Ed about the bike lane in SLO is so typical of colorful language people use to express their NIMBY mindset. His “whoa as me” rhetoric and attack on bike advocates is apparently enough to stop any progress, especially since people on bikes are the minority. The Venice Bikeway removal here in LA is extremely upsetting, because I talked with those against it, and their reasoning was selfish and unjustified. The fight to keep everything “perfect” and unchanged, as is the case in both LA and SLO, is to deprive our communities of a safer and more inclusive future. At this rate though, people are gonna be building moats and fortified walls around their property, and driving around in armored cars, only interacting with other people who share their beliefs online.

Eww, didn’t think the color scheme for a bike can be any worse than the Google bikes in the Bay Area, but CSUN tops that! And yes, Google bikes are abandoned even worse.
