So what’s wrong with this picture?

Just a quick note.

I saw this bike locked to a post at Venice Beach Monday afternoon. Somehow, it doesn’t look all that secure to me.

Bad bike lock job

It took everything I had not to slide it off  that pole and put it back on the next one.

Wonder if the owner would have gotten the hint?

The only other thing I can see that could be locked to is that fence in the background. The bicycle owner may have been told that locking to the fence will result in the loss of his bike.

You totally should have moved it! It’s better to get a hint than a lost bike 🙂

Q: What’s wrong with this picture?
A: The city has installed plenty of expensive car parking, but has failed to install cheap and convenient bike racks.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him lock his bike properly.

And what is there to lock the bike to? The only structures I see in the parking lot are the posts the bike is next to and everybody is already saying they are not suitable for locking a bike to. There is a fence in the background but it is unknown if the owner allows bicycles to be locked there.
