I just got word that the ghost tire installation scheduled for tomorrow at the 99 Ranch Market in Westwood has been postponed until May 9th.
So don’t show up unless you need some fish sauce or mochi or something.

The point about ghost tires being a temporary memorial that can be removed respectfully is a really important distinction. It keeps the focus on the human loss while acknowledging the practical realities of public space.
Disappointed to hear the installation got pushed back, especially after the delays with the ghost bike for Fong last year. Hopefully the weather or whatever the issue is clears up soon, because these memorials really do matter for keeping attention on road safety.
