Move along, nothing to see here — diabetes edition

My apologies.

I’ve been struggling with my blood sugar all day, and haven’t been able to get it back under control to get to work tonight.

As usual, we’ll be back tomorrow to catch up on anything we missed today.

Another reminder to get yourself checked if you’re at risk of diabetes, and do whatever it takes to avoid it. Because you don’t want this crap.

Seriously, if it’s not one damn thing, it’s another.

I hear that – I am type 1 diabetic for 48 years – taking insulin 4-5 times per day, careful of what I eat, cycling helps enormously to keep me going!

I wear a Dexcom continuous glucose monitor to track ups and downs in my bs – especially helpful when I ride – it has been great! If you don’t already have one, I definitely suggest checking them out!

    Take care!

Wish I could. Medicare will only approve a continuous monitor if I’m on insulin; evidently, those of us who control their diabetes with diet and medication don’t need to know our blood sugar levels. But I’m glad it works for you — and that riding a bike helps, too!
