BOLO Alert: LAPD looking for hit-and-run driver who seriously injured cyclist in West L.A.

    If they have the plate number, don’t they have an address of registration and an owner? It seems like they have a lot of info- description of driver, plate #- don’t understand why it’s so hard to find the guy.

      According to the LAPD, the registered owner of that car has not lived at the address listed for a number of years. Personally, I think it would be more effective to release the name of the suspect so we could look for him rather than the car, but I imagine they have their reasons for not doing that.

  3. Google Maps street view has what appears to be THE CAR parked in front of “5546 W. Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA” taken March 2011. Enter the address I reference, switch to street view and click the white street arrow one click west and you’ll see the the vehicle change from a gold mini-SUV to a silver mercedes which looks like it.

    This suggests to me this person is a regular to that intersection and perhaps those businesses.

    Here is a link for what westculvermonicaside says:

    Google Streetview blurs out license plates, so it’s not 100% conclusive that it’s the same vehicle, but that’s a really good observation and I would think it’s worth looking into.

    @cycler – I also wondered that myself.

    • Thanks for that…I had a brain fade and couldn’t remember how to get a link for that. A zoomed in version is also at http://g.co/maps/j6997

        Unfortunately, that appears to be a smaller 4-door Mercedes, rather than the larger, sleeker 2-door coupe design of the CL 550.

        I’ve replaced the link to the photo of the model with something that shows the car better — and will hopefully stay online longer.
